About the scheme

Linkcity, in conjunction with the London Borough of Newham, is delivering one of the most exciting and significant town centre regeneration projects in London’s Canning Town. Forming part of the £3.7 billion Canning Town and Custom House Regeneration Programme, Hallsville Quarter is the new £600 million town centre that is being created to establish a lasting legacy for Canning Town. It will act as the catalyst for the transformation of the wider area, helping to form a new, thriving and prosperous district centre for this emerging area of east London.

This transformational scheme is being delivered over five phases and it will provide approximately 1,100 homes with a variety of tenures, over 30,000 m2 of leisure and retail space, and community facilities. New pedestrian links and cyclist provision are also included, as well as 1,100 secure parking spaces.

We drive involvement in the local community at all levels, with a particular focus on promoting local employment and skills, education engagement and family events.

Phase 3

Plans for Phase 3 comprise 620 new homes including 50 extra care homes – the first in the borough – as well as 118,404 sq ft (11,000 sq m) of retail, leisure, offices and an NHS health centre

Phase 2

Phase 2 has delivered 349 new homes (160 apartments for private sale, 55 affordable apartments, 134 private rented sector homes) and a new 296 bedrooms Ibis Hotel. At the heart of the residential scheme for Phases 1 and 2 is the courtyard garden of 5,700 sq m.

Over 4,000m2 of new restaurants, shops and leisure spaces have also been delivered to activate the public realm and create a vibrant new town centre.

Phase 1

Linkcity is in the process of developing Hallsville Quarter – a significant regeneration of Canning Town centre.

Phase 1 consists of a 7,600 m2 supermarket with direct covered access to the car park for shoppers. Additional retail units are  double height and front the Town Square thereby creating active frontages to enhance shopper experience within the public realm area.
