  • Bouygues Development launches new website for Hallsville Quarter – a project set to transform Canning Town

    Bouygues Development, specialists in mixed use developments, regeneration projects, the private rented sector and student accommodation, has launched a new interactive website for its Hallsville Quarter scheme, a new £600 million regeneration project that is set to transform the centre of Canning Town. Working in conjunction with the London Borough of Newham, Bouygues Development is bringing around 1,100 new homes, over 30,000 sq m of leisure and retail space, along with community facilities to the area. New pedestrian links, cyclist provision and parking will also be included. The scheme is being undertaken in multiple phases, with the first phase completing in spring 2015 and the whole development scheduled for completion in 2024. The new website provides an interactive map of the Hallsville Quarter masterplan, a fly-through, time-lapse photography and computer-generated imagery, as well as detailed information on the residential, retail and leisure elements of the project and a downloadable brochure.   • Hallsville Quarter reaches significant construction milestone

    The completion of the concrete structure of Phase 1 of Hallsville Quarter was marked recently with a topping out ceremony attended by representatives from the key parties responsible for the development: London Borough of Newham, Bouygues Development and Bouygues UK, One Housing Group, Mountain Capital and Morrison’s.   The design and build contract is being carried out by Bouygues UK, and this milestone comes only 16 months after the start of construction on site. The next year will see the installation of the external facades and interior fit out, prior to the completion of this £77 million (Gross Development Value) first phase in early 2015.   The £600 million (gross development value) town centre scheme is the critical element of the London Borough of Newham’s £3.7 billion Canning Town and Custom House Regeneration Programme.   • Financial Close reached on phase one of the transformation of Canning Town

    After three and a half years of extensive planning for the regeneration of Canning Town, Bouygues Development reached financial close on phase one of the project last week. Recently named Hallsville Quarter*, construction work has now begun to create a new town centre in the heart of Canning Town. This major milestone was marked with a groundbreaking ceremony attended by representatives from the three key parties responsible for the development: Sir Robin Wales Mayor of Newham; Madani Sow, Chairman of Bouygues UK and Bouygues Development and One Housing Group Chief Executive, Mick Sweeney. Announced at MIPIM 2012’s London Pavilion, the Town Centre scheme was developed by Bouygues Development and its consortium partner One Housing Group and forms part of the London Borough of Newham’s £3.7 billion Canning Town and Custom House Regeneration Programme.     13 January 2012 The £600 million regeneration of Canning Town Centre has been given the go-ahead by the Planning Committee at the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation. The scheme, developed by Bouygues Development and its consortium partner One Housing Group, forms part of the London Borough of Newham’s £3.7 billion Canning Town and Custom House Regeneration Programme. The six hectare site will reconnect the areas north and south of the A13 flyover – i.e. Canning Town Corner with Barking Road and Rathbone Market – to create a vibrant, accessible and safe Town Centre. Phase 1 of the scheme will comprise 179 residential units of private and affordable housing, 424 square metres of retail and a Morrisons supermarket of over 7,000 square metres.   • Bouygues Development Submits Planning Application to Create New Town Centre in Canning Town

    1 June 2011 Bouygues Development and its consortium partner, One Housing Group, submitted an application to the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation for a 6 hectare site atCanningTown.  It contains an outline planning submission for the masterplan as well as a full and detailed application for Phase 1 of the development. Phase 1 comprises 179 residential units of private and affordable housing, retail and aMorrisons supermarket of over 7,000 square metres.  The masterplan provides for a comprehensive, mixed use development consisting of town centre uses within a gross external floor area of 191,530 square metres, excluding basement zones.  Such uses will encompass retail – including food and drink – offices, leisure, hotel, student accommodation, live/work, health and community functions.  The outline proposal seeks approval for 1,130 residential units, including extra care apartments.
